As a gay man myself I appreciate what your Civil Partnership or Wedding stands for. I will capture the distinctive character of your event, both its respectability and its avant garde aspect too.
I offer two coverage options the Simple Option and the Bespoke Option the choice is yours.
THE SIMPLE OPTION - TIME & PRINTS This coverage option is well suited to Civil Partnerships or Civil Ceremonies as usually these run a little shorter. With this package you pay for my time and then your chosen album prints. You can expect to have around 40 prints per hour of photography (the final numbers are entirely up to you). THE BESPOKE ALBUM OPTION - TIME & PRINTS & ALBUM DESIGN
This is a far more bespoke option where we choose together the best shots for your album and I will then create your custom made storybook album. The albums are reportage albums with custom designed stylish page layouts and varying sized photographs (up to A3). 5 hours coverage, circa 50-70 album prints, Album & Design. 7 hours coverage, circa 70-90 album prints, Album & Design. 9 hours coverage, circa 100 - 120 album prints, Album & Design. 12 hours coverage, circa 120 – 150 album prints, Album & Design. Sizes and formats are available on request. You can also upgrade your album in terms of album cover types and styles. Further information upon request. ADDITIONAL ITEMS There are a number of extra products and service available such as mini versions of the albums for the parents, presentation boxes and calendars. If these are ordered prior to the wedding I will be happy to discuss a discounted package for you. REPRINTS Reprints will be available to buy after the wedding. The standard prices are available upon request. CONTACT ME
Please feel free to give me a call and we can discuss your requirements. After an initial chat we can arrange to meet up
for a pre-event consultation. This is an opportunity for us to talk in more depth about the various options that are
available to you.
If you email me using the link below, please include some basic details, such as the wedding date, the venue and an idea of your budget. There is absolutely no obligation at this stage, so why not find out what we can achieve? Jon@Pho2ography.com FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Where do we go from here? We will have an initial chat over the telephone and arrange a pre-event meeting. We can then go into more detail about what you are looking for from the photography. In order to book me a deposit of £250 will secure the date.
How can I tell a good photographer from a bad one?First and foremost it is the quality of the photographs and the way in which they accurately convey the feelings and emotions of the day. A good photographer is like a good story teller – conveying all the excitement and atmosphere through his images including the little details that really help to colour the full story of the day. I also believe politeness and the ability to mix with a broad range of people of all ages is absolutely essential to get the best out of people. It’s your day so you don't want some bossy chap running around, taking over and generally annoying your guests. Good social skills are the key! Do you shoot in colour or black and white? Both. You can have any amount of colour or black and white shots. I generally shoot a mixture of film types:- starting off the day using black and white for pre-event arrangements and moving into colour just before the ceremony. Many couples prefer the timeless ambiance of black and white, especially if they are shot in a contemporary reportage style. Black and White images can also be Sepia toned to add an evocative atmosphere. We will discuss the kind of mix and style you are looking for when we meet up in the pre-event consultation. Click to view full images on this page or take a look in the ‘Pink Wedding’ or ‘Wedding’ section for more example images. Do we get to meet you before hand? Absolutely, a pre-event consultation will normally be arranged. Successful wedding photography depends on the rapport between the photographer and his subjects. From our pre-event consultation I get a good understanding of exactly what you are looking for. The pre-event consultation puts all parties at ease and adds to a more relaxed day. This meeting also allows me to understand the family tree plus any special requirements. If traditional photography is required I normally ask the Bride & Groom to nominate a ‘family assistant’ such as the Best Man or Bridesmaid. The family assistant will work with me for half an hour or so after the service and should be able to identify family members and guests as this can be helpful to round up missing (at the bar) or ‘run-away’ guests.
Do you use a formal or reportage style?Either or both. Typically I will shoot a few formal shots agreed in advance with you. These can be as many or as few as you like. In addition I will capture, happy, intimate images in a contemporary reportage style. Getting the correct style balance for you is important and we will discuss this beforehand. How long will you be available for? As long as YOU want. I like to start early, photographing the pre-wedding preparations (with the bride and/or groom) and am happy to stay with you until after the wedding breakfast or reception or until you feel I am no longer required. If you only want a photographer present for a portion of the day then I will tailor a package to suit you. Where are you based and how far will you travel? I am based in Central & Greater London but am available for weddings all over the UK and even abroad (the warmer the better please!!). For weddings in and around London there will be minimal travel expenses. Further a field, I will charge travel expenses at normal rates (40p per mile). I may require overnight accommodation depending on location. For weddings abroad travel and accommodation are excluded. When is the right time to book our photographer? With Civil Partnerships once you have given the Notice of Intention to register your Civil Partnership (this usually involves registering details such as, the date and venue). With Weddings, once your venue's have been booked.
Do you do a pre-wedding portrait shoot?Yes, I am available to do this at any time prior to the wedding. The cost is offered at a discounted rate. The image can reflect the theme of the wedding and then be used as part of the stationary or even as a prop as part of the staging of the event. How many photographs will you take? Typically I will take around 300–400 photos during a full wedding day shoot, but there are no hard and fast rules. How many photos make up my album? All albums are bespoke and hand produced, so really that’s down to you! If you decide on the ‘album option’ price package; I think, a good number to start with is around 50-60 (of differing sizes and/or format). Prices vary dependent on the type, size and number of pages in chosen album. We will work together in choosing the final images that will create a unique record of your big day. Will you visit the venue before the big day? Where ever possible, I will always visit the venue before hand in order to be able to visualise your wedding images lighting, background and photographic opportunities, thus allowing me more time on the actual day to record the event in the best possible way. Do you do more than one wedding in a day? No Never. I am 110% committed to you on your wedding day, I am your wedding photographer all day!! What equipment do you use? I work predominantly with professional Canon (35mm or Digital) cameras for reportage styles. The Canon’s allow me to work fast and efficiently meaning there are no obtrusive bits of kit that might get in the way of your wedding. I try to minimise the use of flash during the day preferring to work with as much natural light as possible. I am also able to give you the option of Medium Format images if traditional photography is chosen. I use a Medium Format Bronica-SQ cameras, that provide beautiful, pin-sharp square images. Mixing formats can also be discussed during the pre-event consultation. Do you use film or digital? Although great advances have been made in digital photography I am at heart a traditionalist photographer, meaning I prefer to use film where ever possible as it still has the edge in terms of quality for actual prints (particularly in B+W). Ultimately you want the best possible final product. All films images are available in digital format, as they are scanned at the development stage.
Will I receive proofs of the photos taken? You will receive contact sheets or a Digital CD slide show of all the images taken that way you can choose which ones are to go in the album and which ones you want as prints. Copyright is retained by the photographer on all images. Further details available upon request for rights buy outs. Can our friends and family buy copies of photographs and/or albums from you? Yes. Digitial CD copies for photographic print selections are available. Do you do midweek weddings? Yes - Absolutely. I am available throughout the year on any day. As midweek weddings tend to be shorter, I can tailor a package for you around that. All Text & Images © Copyright Jonathon Sanders 2007. |
